15 Unauthentic Narrations About the Qur'aan

[ In the Name of Allaah the Most Merciful, may His Salaah and Salaam be upon His final Messenger Muhammad, and upon all of his noble family and companions, to proceed... There are many unauthentic narrations about the Qur'aan being circulated these days. [1] The following narrations are some examples: ]
#859 - [ It has been narrated ] on the authority of Aboo Hurayrah (radhiyallaahu 'anhu), the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaah 'alayhe wa sallam) said:
"Whoever listens to any verse of Allaah's Book will receive a good reward that will be multiplied; and whoever recites it will have light on the Day of Judgement."
Dha'eef (weak) - It was collected by Ahmad from 'Ubaadah ibn Muyassarah, whose reliability has been disputed. The chain also has Al-Hasan reporting from Aboo Hurayrah, and the majority of the scholars hold that Al-Hasan did not hear from Aboo Hurayrah.

Nine Great Benefits of Reading and Reflecting Over the Qur'aan

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Merciful, may His Salaah and Salaam be upon His last Messenger Muhammad, to proceed:
Indeed the Book of Allaah is not a book like any other, it is the timeless Speech of Allaah, not a created thing, a study guide for life and death and what comes after. Therefore it deserves a more careful study than anyone else's speech. It necessitates that its reader return to the early narrations of those who witnessed its revelation and heard its explanation by the one deputed by Allaah to rehearse and explain His Words to humanity (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam). For if one would try to ponder over the meanings of the verses without having done this study, then surely the filth of the time that he lives in and his ignorance of the correct application and understanding that the early Muslims had would cause him to understand some things not intended by Allaah Most High, and therefore he would go astray, thinking to be worshipping Allaah.

Topic: Question: what to do if you forget how many days of Ramadaan you've missed

Salaamoe aleikoem,

I have an very urgent question on behalf of my sister.
The last three years she have been careless with fasting the missed days (due to menstruation) of Ramadaan. Now she regret and wants to make Taubah. What does she have to do in this situation?

Does she have to make up the missed days of three months of Ramadaan? And if so, how many days does she have to make up? She don't know how many days she have missed of Ramadaan.

Does she have to do something else besides fasting the missed days?

Are those questions ever been asked to the Ulamaa?
Could somebody prossably ask an Aalim about this questions?

The obligation of fasting even when work circumstances are not conducive to fasting

Question:

I am a soldier, and the month of Ramadaan came upon me, so is it permissible to not fast knowing that the circumstances (at work) do not help/aid me upon fasting?
Answer:

It is not permissible for you to not fast in Ramadaan if you are a person who is required to fast, unless you are a traveller or are suffering from an illness with which you do not have the strength to fast – according to His Statement, the Exalted: So whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days of missed fasting) must be (made up) from other days. Soorah al Baqarah (2) aayah 185
And He has not placed upon you in the religion any hardship. Soorah al Hajj (22) aayah 78
Allaah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity Soorah al Baqarah (2) aayah 286

Fast what is upon you from missed fasts first

Question:

Is it permissible to fast the 6 days of Shawwaal before making up the missed fasts of Ramadhan? And is it permissible to fast on Monday in the month of Shawwaal with the intention of making up the missed fasts of Ramadhan, and with the intention of attaining the reward of fasting on the Monday?
Answer:

The reward of fasting the six days of Shawwaal is not attained except if a person has completed the month’s fasts of Ramadhan, so whoever has some missed fasts from Ramadhan then let him not fast the six days of Shawwaal until he has completed the missed fasts of Ramadhan, because the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:

Whoever fasts Ramadhan then follows that with six from Shawwaal…

Shaikh Fawzan on Calling Oneself Salafi

Q. Is one who calls himself a "Salafi" to be considered a partisan (hizbi?)
A. There is not harm [1] in labelling oneself with Salafiyyah when it is in truth. However, if it is merely a claim then it is not permissible to label oneself with Salafiyyah, whilst one is upon a manhaj other than that of the Salaf.
The Ash'aris for example, say "We are Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah" and this is not correct. This is because what they are upon is not the manhaj of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah. It is likewise for the Mu'tazilah who call themselves "Muwahhideen" (Monotheists).

All of them claim to have love for Laylaa
Yet Laylaa does not affirm this for any of them

THE SHAIKH & 'ALLAAMAH 'UBAID AL-JAABIREE: THE RECENT ATTACKS UPON SALAFI PUBLICATIONS & THE STATEMENTS OF SHAIKH WASI'ULLAAH
Ash-Shaikh ul-'Allaamah Ubaid Al-Jaabiree, hafidhahullaah said: (Date: Sunday 8th October 2006, after taraweeh prayer, in the city of Madeenah, KSA, during the Dawrah 'Ilmiyyah in Ramadhaan)
"As for the fourth level, it is the level of patience in whatever harm afflicts him in the path of calling to Allaah, the Sublime and Exalted. And you should know, may Allaah bless you, that whoever puts himself forward for da'wah and partakes in it, then he appoints for himself the duty of the Prophets and Messengers, from Nuh, the first of them, to Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).
And so long as the affair is like that, then harm will afflict him to the level of his striving in his da'wah. But sometimes it can increase, when ignorance increases, and corruption increases, and innovations increases, then it (the harm) can become more severe upon the caller to Allaah.

Does Sheik Rabee advise before he refutes?
Translator’s note: The audio is present in Arabic for those who desire the word for word.

Questioner: It has been reiterated by some of those with us here in Riyadh that you have refuted some of the various movements.
Sheikh Rabee: Some of the what?
Questioner: Some of the various movements

Sheikh Rabee: Yes.
Questioner: Refuted them with speech and written works, so did you advise them before you refuted them?
Sheikh Rabee: This is something which is known, it is well known that I give advice, such that the Haddadis consider this to be blameworthy and (they consider this to be) tamyee; may ALLAH fight them. By ALLAH, we do not do this except in order to protect the Salafis, By ALLAH I don’t want for a hair of a Salafi to fall, if a person attributes himself to the minhaj of the Salafi and he says, “I’m Salafi” and he associates with the Salafis and then he falls into a mistake, even something major, I am not quiet about it and all praises belong to ALLAH, I advise him, verbally and written to the best of my ability. So the first person I advised was Abdur Rahman Abdul Khaliq, I advised him and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Manhaj Q and A with Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee

Question and Answers with Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee

This is a question and answer session that took place with Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee al-Madkhalee during Ramadan 1424H concerning the affairs of tabdee`, jarh, hajr and related affairs.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee: Yes, he is to be aligned them.

Question: Does [giving] advice consume a long time? Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee: No, it does not consume [lots of] time, it is in accordance with what a person sees, sometimes it can be in a [single] sitting, sometimes it could be in two sittings, sometimes it could be in three when that person has a shubhah (doubt, misconception), and sometimes it could be with [just] a word. Looking at theWoman Intended for Marriage and It's Conditions

Shaykh Abdul-Azeez ibn Baaz  Reference: Fatawah Noor ‘ala ad Darb
 Category: Women's Matters
Ibn Qudaamah said:

“Whoever desires to marry a woman then it is permissible for him to look at her without being alone with her. We don’t know any
differing amongst the people of knowledge regarding the permissibility of looking at the woman intended for marriage based upon
the Hadeeth of Jaabir Ibn ‘Abdullaah that the Messenger, May the Salat and Salaam of Allaah be upon him, said:

“If one of you proposes to a woman and he has the ability to look at her, then he should do so”
For the Prophet ordered us to look and it was left general.

Between The Past And The Future

Imâm Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

al-Fawaa’id, pp 151-152
Al-Istiqaamah, No. 2

Your life in the present moment is in between the past and the future. So what has preceded can be rectified by tawbah (repentance), nadam (regret) and istighfar (seeking Allaah’s forgiveness).

امرأة والعزيمة القوية للتوبة

Read it and Weep (Literally!!!)
It was reported on the authority of Hassan Al Basree (Rahimahullah), who was one of the scholars from the Ta'bieen:

There was a prostitute who had a third of the beauty of Adam (Alaihis salam). She would not allow anyone to have sexual relations with her unless it
was for 100 dinars.

The Reality of Hijaab, The Muslim Woman's Dress

[Article taken from ‘Invitation to Islam’ newsletter, September 1997]

The Obligatory Conditions For An Islamic Hijab

1. Covering all Of The Body
It is an agreed position by many respected scholars that the face and hands of the woman must be covered. Some scholars say it is permissible to uncover the face and the hands of the woman as long as there is no fitna (infatuation) caused by this action. Two things must be taken into consideration
a) if she is beautiful and beautifies her face and hands with external substances, or
b) the society around her is corrupt where men do not lower their gaze, then it is prohibited for her to uncover her face and hands.

Why Should I Wear the Hijaab?

"PIVOTAL QUOTE"
Dear Muslim sister! Come towards the gates of Paradise with us! Fulfill your duties towards Allaah, put on your adornment - put on your hijaab, and race towards Jannah (Paradise) by doing all good actions.
This is a good question and there is a beautiful answer! Allaah has commanded us with every action that is good for us and prohibited us from performing every action that is bad for us. Allaah orders the Muslim woman to wear the hijaab when she steps out of the security of her home or when in the presence of strange men. So to wear the hijaab is a source of great good for you – the Muslim woman - for many reasons. Among them:

Oh sister covered in Hijab – by Shaik Badr Ali Utaybee hafidahullaah

This is a poem by shaykh Badr Bin Ali Utaybee hafidahullaah,
taken from “20 pieces of advice to my sister before her marriage”
“Oh sister veiled in hijaab slacken your pace.
Walk upon the hearts of the jealous ones and cause them to tremble!
Move with nobility and pride whenever the eyes of the envious
are barred from glancing at your skin.
You are beauty in its goodness and perfection.
You are chastity in all its glory.

Sacrifice on Occasion of Birth (`Aqiqa)

New Born

(A) GIVING THE GOOD NEWS OF THE BIRTH

The celebrations due to the birth begin with the desirability of carrying the good news to the family of the new-born child. So this news is conveyed to the father and others i.e. that the child has been born, and it will cause him great happiness and joy to hear that what he has been anxiously awaiting has arrived.
So the child is a blessing and a precious gift given to the parents, and a beautiful flower granted to them by the Granter of all blessings - He thee free of all imperfections - so it is right that whoever has been provided with a new-born child should be informed of it, and that hears of it should be happy for him and congratulate him.

The Manners of Welcoming the New-Born Child in Islaam

"PIVOTAL QUOTE"
Our Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was a living example, educating, cultivating the Muslims upon the practices of Islaam, teaching them how to worship their Lord in the best of ways.

Children are a source of delight and an adornment for the world granted by Allaah to their parents, they give vigour to the hearts, joy to the souls, pleasure to the eyes.

Regarding Good Conduct towards ones Parents

by Imaam Bukhari
Extracts from 'Saheeh al-Adab al-Mufrad' of Imaam Bukhaaree, checked by al-Albaanee.
Chapter 1: The saying of Allaah the Exalted, "and we have enjoined upon man to be good to his parents"
1/1 From Abu Umru ash-Shaibaanee who said, "The owner of this house narrated to us," and he indicated with his hand to the house of Abdullaah, that, "I asked the Prophet (SAW), 'which action is the most beloved to Allaah?' He said, 'Prayer at it's correct time'. I said, 'then which action? 'He said, 'birr (good treatment, kindness) to the parents.' I said, 'then which?' He said 'Jihaad in the way of Allaah'
Abdullaah said, "He told me these, and if I had asked further, he would have told me." Saheeh - Irwaa (1197)

HONOURING THE PARENTS FROM THE QURAN AND SUNNAH

Shaikh Nazzam Sakkeejaa

1 Introduction

From the Manners of Islaam: Honouring the Parents From the Noble Qur'aan & the Authentic Ahaadeeth
by ash-Shaikh Nazzam Sakkeejaa

Essential Rights

That the Pure, Innate Nature Calls for but Islam Requires from Muslims
All praise is due to Allah, the Almighty. Thee we praise, and Thee we seek help from. We seek refuge with Allah . the Almighty , from our own evil , and from the wrong done against our souls. He whom Allah , the Almighty , guides , there is no one to misguide , And whom Allah , the Almighty, misguides , there is no one who can guide. I bear witness openly and wholeheartedly that Allah, the Almighty , is the only one god worthy of worship.

A Reminder for our Believing Women

MARIA al-Qibtiyya

Maria al-Qibtiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) is said to have married the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and certainly everyone gave her the same title of respect as the Prophet's wives, 'Umm al Muminin' 'Mother of the Believers'. Maria was born in upper Egypt of a Coptic father and Greek mother and moved to the court of the Muqawqis when she was still very young.

MAYMUNA bint al-Harith

Maymuna bint al-Harith, (may Allah be pleased with her), married the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 7 AH, when the Prophet was sixty years old and she was thirty six years old. Maymuna's sister, Umm al-Fadl Lubaba, was the mother of Abdullah ibn Abbas, the son of one of the uncles of the Prophet and the one of the wisest of his Companions. Umm al-Fadl was one of the earliest Companions of the Prophet.

SAFIYYA bint Huyayy

Safiyya bint Huyayy, (may Allah be pleased with her) married the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 7 AH, when the Prophet was sixty years old and she was seventeen years old. As in the case of juwayriyya bint Harith, this marriage occurred after one of the Muslims' decisive battles, in this case, the battle of Khaybar.

UMM HABIBA Ramla bint Abu Sufyan

Umm Habiba Ramla bint Abu Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with her, in fact married the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 1 AH, although she did not actually come to live with him in Medina until 7 AH, when the Prophet was sixty years old and she was thirty-five. Umm Habiba was the daughter of Abu Sufyan, who for some of his life was one of the most resolute enemies of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spending much of his great wealth in opposing the Muslims, and leading the armies of the kafirun against the Muslims in all the early major battles, including the battles of Badr, Uhud and al-Khandaq.

JUWAYRIYYA bint al-Harith

Juwayriyya bint Harith, may Allah be pleased with her, married the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 5 AH, when the Prophet was fifty-eight years old and she was twenty, not long after his marriage to Zaynab bint Jahsh, and as a result of the Muslims ' successful campaign against the Banu Mustaliq who were swiftly defeated after the Prophet's surprise attack. Among the captives taken in this campaign was the beautiful Juwayriyya, the daughter of al-Harith, who was the chief of the Banu Mustaliq.

ZAYNAB bint Jahsh

Zaynab bint Jahsh, may Allah be pleased with her, married the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 5 AH, when she was thirty-five and the Prophet was fifty-eight, but only after her pervious marriage, which had been arranged by the Prophet himself, had ended in divorce. As with all the marriages of the Prophet Muhammad, there was much for all the Muslims to learn from it.

UMM SALAMA HIND bint Abi Umayya

Umm Salama Hind bint Abi Umayya, may Allah be pleased with her, was married to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 4 AH at the age of twenty nine, after her first husband, Abdullah ibn Abdul Asad, had died from the wounds he had received while fighting at the battle of Uhud.

ZAYNAB bint Khuzayma

Zaynab bint Khuzayma, may Allah be pleased with her, was married to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Ramadan, 4 AH, soon after his marriage to Hafsa when he was fifty-six years old and she was thirty years old. After she had been made a widow when her husband was martyred at Badr,

she offered herself in marriage to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who accepted her proposal and married her. Zaynab bint Khuzayma was so generous to orphans and the poor that she came to be known as the 'Mother of the Poor'. She died only eight months after her marriage, may Allah be pleased with her, and although not a great deal is known about her today, there will be many who will testify to her generosity on the Last Day.

HAFSA bint Umar

Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her, was the daughter of Sayyiduna Umar ibn al Khattab. She had been married to someone else, but was widowed when she as still very young, only eighteen. Umar asked both Abu Bakr and Uthman ibn Affan, one after another, if they would like to marry her,

AISHA bint Abi Bakr

Gradually the Muslims who remained in Mecca left the city and traveled to Medina to join their beloved Prophet, and amongst them was a little girl called 'A'isha, the daughter of Abu Bakr. Soon after arriving in Medina, 'A'isha, who was now nine years old, as married to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who was now fifty-four years old.

SAWDA bint Zam'a

Sawda bint Zam'a, may Allah be pleased with her had been the first woman to immigrate to Abyssinia in the way of Allah. Her husband ha died and she was now living with her aged father. She was middle-aged, rather plump, with a jolly, kindly disposition, and just the right person to take care of the Prophet's household and family.

KHADIJA bint Khuwaylid

Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, came from a noble family. Her father Khuwaylid had been one of the most honored leaders of their tribe until he was killed in battle. Her husband had also died, leaving her a very wealthy woman. When Muhammad (peace be upon him) was still a young man, she entrusted him with some of her wealth, asking him to trade with it in Syria on her behalf. He was already well known for his honesty, truthfulness and trustworthiness. He returned from Syria after having made a large profit for Khadijah.
